   You didn't let OUR history...BECOME history!  

To all who voted for the Fairfield County Parks levy:

Thank you for your dedication to history, heritage, community, and your fellow citizens.  These parks document the struggles of people -- human beings -- who lived their lives in our fair fields.  They loved, fought, bore children, lived and died here.  They built monuments, churches, schoolhouses, bridges, farms, businesses, lives, legacies, and cemeteries to honor their dead.  They did NOT do it alone, but with the help of their fellow Hopewell, pioneers, citizens, friends, and neighbors.

Thanks to your support, we will keep the dream alive.  The dream is that our children, their kids, and all their offspring for many generations will know the stories of those who came before.  They'll be able to touch the same place that a Hopewell child touched 2000 years ago.  They'll hear the sound of a working grist mill, smell the grain dust in the air, see the ingenious ways their ancestors harnessed the power of rivers, animals, and people to feed a nation.  They will taste the fruits of these pioneers' labor, and feel, in their bones, the rumble of industry.  They'll be able to experience the world of their forefathers and use what they learn to make our county a better place to live.
